We provide technical assistance to our build partners, Developers, Builders and Electricians as part of our value added service. If you have any questions relating to NBN, configuration, wiring, preparation, customer assistance, Granny Flats, Duplexes, HMDUs or even which technology type a particular address is please feel free to call or email. Much better to deal with technical professionals than front end customer service representatives when you require specific information
We have collated the NBN Builders guides into one location for your reference. These are the specifications NBN requires builds are compliant with.
FTTP is for Greenfields estates and FTTP developments. FTTN & HFC are existing areas and may contain these technologies. Contact us for more information
Granny Flats can be confusing, lets help you with this. NBN determines granny flats on title. If lot for house & Granny is same title, the granny flat runs off the NTD(inside box) from the main dwelling via a cat5/6 connection , which then terminates on a data point in the granny. Its a seperately billed service to another user at the same address using the uniD2 port
Duplexes have seperate titles and are treated as seperate addresses by NBN. For a dulex to be added into the network, a small dev application needs to be lodged and paid for by the Developer/Builder/Customer. This has a cost attached and also can take a few months.
Seperate leadin conduits and sperate internal pathways. Both addresses get a seperate connection
These require a design from a certified designer. we can assist with this and get you in touch with the right people.
This should be done at the start of the project well before any works take place.
After the design is submitted and approved, it be built. Finally will be audited for compliance to build specs and then approved. Once approved we can arrange connection for the dwellings. Best to reach out as early as possible. good things take time
A Gas meter needs to be 500mm away from the NBN PCD (outside box) Gas bottles need to be 1.5m upto 3m away. (other clearances are 150mm for taps meterboards etc)
Some builders are placing gas and NBN on opposite sides of the house which i think is a great idea
If your trades working onsite have accidentally damaged infrastructure by digging a driveway etc then we may be able to assist. Of course you should have your BDYD-DBYD reports prior to undertaking any works. If minor we may be able to assist. If major you will need to report it to NBN and expect a bill for the repairs
If damage to the NBN Lead In Conduit occurs inside the boundary, 9/10 times it will be put back on the builder. Best to get your sparky to fix it and back charge the trade responsible. We will advise you if this has occured when trying to install the service. Most often Gas installers, Drainage, sometime even fencers putting post through it and occassionally driveway installation. Best to have it resolved before your client becomes the meat in the sandwich
